Woman injured after icy road accident in Aberdeenshire

A woman has been taken to hospital after her car crashed and landed on its roof on an icy Aberdeenshire road.

The accident happened on the B966 near Fordoun, shortly before 06:50.

The 45-year-old woman was cut free from the black Vauxhall Corsa by Grampian Fire and Rescue Service.

She was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment. A Grampian Police spokeswoman said the motorist's injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
