Man dies after A95 tractor collision near Keith

A man has died after a crash between a car and a tractor in Moray.

The collision happened on the A95 near Keith at about 10:55.

One woman was also flown by air ambulance helicopter to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, and another woman was taken to Dr Gray's Hospital in Elgin.

Grampian Police said the driver of the car, a 70-year-old man from the Keith area, died at the scene. The road was closed for accident investigations but has now reopened.

A 48-year-old woman, who was a rear seat passenger in the car, was airlifted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where she was treated for serious injuries. The injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

A 58-year-old woman, who had been a front seat passenger, was taken to hospital in Elgin where she was treated for slight injuries. The 47-year-old tractor driver was uninjured.

Grampian Police's Insp Scott Mann said: "Tragically a man has died as a result of this morning's collision. His family are aware and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.

"Our inquiries into establishing the cause of the collision are clearly at a very early stage."

Officers have spoken to a number of witnesses but asked anyone else who saw the crash or its aftermath to contact police.
