Mannofield cricket club recovering before cup event

A leading Aberdeen cricket ground which was vandalised, placing major summer fixtures in doubt, appears to be on course for a full recovery.

It emerged in December that weed-killer was thought to have been poured over sections of the pitch at Aberdeenshire Cricket Club's home in Mannofield.

It was believed the damage, which prevented the grass growing, may have been caused several months earlier.

The ground is due to host an International Cup match in July.
