Government approves Aberdeen local development plan

A blueprint setting out how Aberdeen will grow over the next 10 years has been approved by the Scottish government.

Aberdeen City Council's local development plan sets out proposals for building thousands of homes in the coming decade.

The move, the first of its type in Scotland since reforms to the planning system, comes into force this month.

It was approved by Planning Minister Derek Mackay.
