Aberdeen 'bridge jumping' criminal David McKenzie jailed

A thief who broke his hip and ankle jumping over an Aberdeen bridge in a bid to escape has been jailed.

David McKenzie, 33, had stolen clothes to pay off drug debts when he jumped from the bridge over Denburn Road in July last year.

McKenzie admitted shoplifting and was jailed for two months.

Defence agent Neil McRobert told Aberdeen Sheriff Court of the fall: "There is an element of justice in this matter."
