Woman hurt after car leaves road in Aberdeenshire

Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was seriously injured when her car left the road in Aberdeenshire.

The crash happened on B9031 Gardenstown to Banff road at about 23:00 on Monday.

A spokesman for Grampian Police said the 36-year-old driver had to be removed from the black Seat Toledo by firefighters.

She was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, where her condition was described as serious but stable.

Insp Neil Morrison said: "Our inquiries are continuing in order to establish why this vehicle came to leave the road.

"I would appeal for anyone who may have witnessed the incident and who has not already been in touch to do so as soon as possible."
