Paraglider injured in trees crash near Tarland

A paraglider has been airlifted to hospital for treatment after crashing in woodland in Aberdeenshire.

The injured man raised the alarm himself at about 10:25 and the emergency services went to the scene near Tarland.

Police and ambulance crews were involved in the rescue, and the paraglider was flown to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary by RAF helicopter.

A Grampian Police spokesman said the man suffered back injuries.
