Seven 'illegal' staff discovered at Peterhead's Laxmi restaurant

A Peterhead restaurant faces a fine after seven men were caught working illegally, the UK Border Agency has said.

Officers targeted Laxmi Indian Cuisine in Rose Street on Wednesday evening, and six Bangladeshi men and one Pakistani man were found.

The restaurant was closed following the operation.

A fine of up to £70,000 could be imposed if there is no evidence legally required checks were carried out.
