Offshore worker suffers crush injury on Transocean Prospect

An offshore worker has been airlifted to hospital after suffering a crush injury in the North Sea.

The incident happened on the semi-submersible rig, Transocean Prospect, about 60 miles east of Aberdeen, on Tuesday morning.

A rescue helicopter from RAF Lossiemouth flew the man to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, arriving shortly before 13:00.

It is understood the man suffered an injury to his thigh.
