More than 60 jobs at an Aberdeen joinery workshop are feared to be at risk.

Staff at the Hall and Tawse factory - 62 in total - in the city's Granitehill Road have been told it is to close.

Owner Balfour Beatty is blaming a significant downturn in activity for the decision.

The Hall and Tawse workshop has been on the same site since it was founded in 1880. Construction union Ucatt said the announcement was very concerning.

Union officials are set to meet management next week.
