Motorcyclist killed in Aberdeenshire road crash with car south of Turriff

A motorcyclist has died after being involved in a collision with a car in Aberdeenshire.

Grampian Police said the accident happened on an unclassified road south of Turriff before the junction with the B9001 at about 06:35 on Wednesday.

The biker, a 57-year-old man from the Banff area, died at the scene. The male driver of the car was treated in hospital for minor injuries.

Police said the road was closed for five hours.

Accident investigations have been taking place and officers appealed for any witnesses to the crash to contact police.
