Appeal over young cat Molly abandoned in Aberdeenshire field

Molly The Scottish SPCA said Molly was frightened

An appeal for information has been made after a young cat was found abandoned in an Aberdeenshire field.

The small cat - which looks like a kitten - was spotted crossing the A944 Alford to Aberdeen road at Sauchen.

The Scottish SPCA said she had been named Molly.

Senior inspector Alison Simpson said: "Poor Molly may have been hungry, alone and frightened for days before she was rescued."

She added: "She looks like a kitten as she's so tiny but the vet who examined her said she's just under a year old.

"We are appealing to the public in the hope someone will come forward to help us identify who put Molly through this ordeal."

A cardboard box with two dishes inside was found close by.
