Grampian Police probe separate fires in Aberdeen and Banff

Police have said they are treating a fire at the back door of a block of flats in Aberdeen as suspicious.

Fire crews were called to the blaze at a rear communal door on Marchburn Drive in the city at about 03:00 on Sunday.

No-one was injured. Grampian Police believe the fire was started deliberately and has appealed for witnesses.

The force is also investigating a separate incident in which a car was set alight in Banff, Aberdeenshire.

It happened in Addison Crescent between 03:00 and 04:00 on Sunday.

Two males were seen running from the area, one wearing a white hooded top and the other wearing a yellow hooded top.
