Aberdeenshire road reopens after Milton Bridge repairs

A popular tourist route in Aberdeenshire which was closed after a bridge was badly damaged in a crash has reopened ahead of schedule.

Milton Bridge was struck in May and could not be repaired without a full closure of the A939 Gairnshiel to Bridge of Gairn road.

Aberdeenshire Council said the work, which involved both bridge parapets, was completed on Monday.

The road takes motorists through the Cairngorm National Park.
