Police name Graeme Innes as man who died after being hit by bus on A96

Police have named a pedestrian who died after being hit by a bus in Moray.

Graeme Innes, 52, died at the scene on the A96, about 1.5 miles south of Keith.

The Stagecoach Bluebird bus involved was carrying 25 passengers when the collision happened at about 11:20 on Sunday.

One passenger received treatment for shock. The bus driver was uninjured. Officers have appealed for witnesses.

'Get in touch'

Sgt David Pirie from Grampian Police said: "Tragically, Mr Innes, a 52 year old local man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.

"Our inquiries are progressing however at this stage it is too early to establish the full circumstances surrounding the collision."

The road was closed for eight hours to allow crash investigations to be carried out.

Sgt Pirie added: "I would ask anyone who may have seen a male pedestrian in that area around the time of the collision to get in touch with us."
