A former fishing boat skipper who set off on a fund-raising journey to row 400 miles from Stonehaven to Denmark has been forced to abandon his bid.

Mike Park aimed to raise £100,000 as a result of his three-week solo voyage, which got under way last Tuesday.

But his communication systems broke down more than 100 miles out, a search was launched and Mr Park turned back.

He is well known through his role as chief executive of the Scottish White Fish Producers Association.
