Workmen rescued from 70ft up Aberdeen library building

Three workmen trapped in a cradle about 70ft up the side of the University of Aberdeen library have been rescued.

The cradle - which was being used for repair work on the building's glass walls - suffered a mechanical failure on Wednesday morning.

The three workmen were rescued after being stuck for about two hours.

The area below the library had been cordoned off. There were no reports of any injuries.
