North Sea oil workers hit by norovirus symptoms

Five oil workers are in isolation after a suspected outbreak of the norovirus winter vomiting bug aboard a North Sea platform.

Petrofac said 55 personnel have shown symptoms aboard the Heather platform in the last month.

The firm said there were three suspected cases on the installation with an additional two who are clear of symptoms but still in isolation.

The platform continues to operate, with 70 personnel currently on board.
