Aberdeen drugs dealer sentenced to six years in prison

A drug dealer in Aberdeen has been jailed for six years.

John Shaw, originally from Wolverhampton, claimed he became involved in heroin and crack cocaine to pay off gambling debts

The 24-year-old earlier admitted being concerned in the supply of the Class A drugs, in July 2009.

Lord Uist, at the High Court in Edinburgh, told Shaw: "You were clearly part of the notorious drugs link between the Midlands and Aberdeen."

The judge added: "Clearly you were engaged in commercial dealing in these two drugs in Aberdeen to a significant extent."
