Man arrested over Lerwick assault

A man was arrested after a teenager suffered serious leg injuries in an assault in Shetland.

The incident happened in Lerwick's Commercial Street in the early hours of Saturday.

The 17-year-old man was taken to the town's Gilbert Bain Hospital before being transferred to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

The Crown Office later said a 29-year-old man, who had been due in court, was freed pending further investigation.
