Acvo charity chief executive Ian Paterson resigns

The chief executive an Aberdeen charity who has been at centre of assault allegations has resigned.

Ian Paterson became chief executive of the Aberdeen Council of Voluntary Organisations (Acvo) after retiring from Grampian Police.

Acvo said: "Ian Paterson has resigned and, accordingly, Acvo will be commencing the recruitment of a new chief executive in the near future.

"In the meantime the interim management arrangements will continue."

Grampian Police earlier said a 61-year-old man had been charged in connection with the inquiry.
