A Scottish Premier League goalkeeper caught without insurance has been banned from driving.

Aberdeen's Jason Brown - who has appeared for the Welsh national team - was pulled over by police doing routine checks near Pittodrie in August.

He claimed he was unaware his policy had been cancelled.

He pleaded guilty at Aberdeen Justice of the Peace Court and was fined £365. Six penalty points resulted in a six-month driving ban due to totting up.
