Young boy airlifted after road accident in Gardenstown

A young boy has been airlifted to hospital after a road accident in Aberdeenshire.

An air ambulance was sent to the scene of the incident, which took place in Gardenstown's Castelhill Drive, shortly before midday on Tuesday.

It is believed the child - who is thought to be about three years old - may have been hit by a car.

The boy was flown to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with suspected head injuries.

His injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
