CCTV images of three men police want to trace in connection with two armed raids on shops in Aberdeen have been released.

The first happened at the RS McColl store in Bervie Brow in the Cove area on Thursday 3 January.

The second was at the Spar store on North Deeside Road, Peterculter, on Friday 11 January.

In both, three men threatened staff with bladed weapons, and demanded money.

Police believed the raids are linked.

The suspects in the two robberies were described as between 18 to 25 years old, and between 5ft 10in and 6ft tall.

Det Insp Lorna Ferguson, who is leading the enquiry, said: "In both of these incidents members of the public have clearly endured an ordeal that no one should be exposed to.

"I would urge anyone who has any information relating to the males depicted, or who may recognise them from the clothing they are wearing in the CCTV images, to make contact with the police and pass on that information."
