Parents who are unhappy at plans for a major shake-up of primary school catchment areas in Aberdeen - which could lead to closures - can still have a say on the proposals, it has been claimed.

The suggestions are to be discussed by a special meeting of the education committee next week.

Some pupils could be sent to different primaries and secondary schools.

The city council said doing nothing is not an option.

Committee convenor Jenny Laing told BBC Scotland that the opinions of parents are still important.

The plans could see schools in Bridge of Don, Kincorth and Northfield merged with neighbouring schools.
