A former fishing boat skipper who attempted a fundraising journey to row 400 miles from Stonehaven to Denmark has raised almost £50,000.

Mike Park had to abandon the solo voyage last August after his communication systems broke down more than 100 miles out.

The money will be divided between three charities.

Mr Park is well known through his role as chief executive of the Scottish White Fish Producers Association.

The total raised was more than £48,000.

It is being shared between The Fishermen's Mission, Operation Smile UK and Clan House.
