Orkney hospital 'needs to become cleaner', say inspectors
Orkney's Balfour Hospital needs to make further improvements in its cleanliness, inspectors have said.
The Healthcare Environment Inspectorate has set out requirements which it says NHS Orkney must fully address.
These include providing adequate hand decontamination facilities in the rehabilitation ward, and ensuring all patient equipment is cleaned and ready to use to combat cross infection.
It follows an unannounced follow-up inspection.
