Woman killed in A90 lorry crash named as Catherine Welsh

A car driver who died after a collision with a stationary articulated lorry on the A90 between Aberdeen and Dundee has been named.

Catherine Welsh, 43, of Woodside in Aberdeen, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash happened south of Stracathro just after 05:00 on Tuesday. The southbound carriageway was closed for several hours.

Police have appealed for any witnesses to contact them.
