Banchory care home worker struck off over seizures patient

A care worker at an Aberdeenshire home has been struck off after putting a vulnerable patient at risk of potentially serious harm.

Sara Hargreaves failed to seek medical advice or assistance after the epileptic patient had suffered two seizures.

The Scottish Social Services Council's conduct sub-committee heard that he was put on a bus to another centre.

It happened the Banchory Respite Unit in February last year.

The sub-committee said in placing the patient on the bus Ms Hargreaves had treated him as a task rather than an individual.

It was ruled public confidence in social services, and the council as regulator, would be undermined were a removal order not made.
