Bernd Wannenwetsch guilty of sexual assault on plane to Aberdeen
A married minister has been found guilty of sexually assaulting a woman on a aeroplane to Aberdeen.
Bernd Wannenwetsch, 53, of Newburgh, Aberdeenshire, touched the woman while flying from Amsterdam.
Wannenwetsch was found guilty after a trial at Aberdeen Sheriff Court.
Sheriff Graham Buchanan described it as a "squalid" incident. He deferred sentence for the preparation of reports and put Wannenwetsch on the sex offenders register.
The incident happened during a flight on 11 November.
A spokesman for the University of Aberdeen - where the ordained minister is based at its school of divinity, history and philosophy - said: "The university has been aware of this case and will invoke internal procedures to address the verdict."
