The Duchess of Rothesay has officially opened a new cancer unit in Aberdeen, built in memory of Scottish golfer Colin Montgomerie's late mother.

Camilla - president of Maggie's Cancer Caring Centres - was joined by the Queen of Norway for Monday's ceremony.

Former Ryder Cup captain Montgomerie said he was "proud" of the Elizabeth Montgomerie Building.

The golfer's Elizabeth Montgomerie Foundation raised money for the project.

His mother died of lung cancer in 1991.
