One man aged 75 dead after Balmedie house fire

A 75-year-old man has died after a house fire in Aberdeenshire.

The emergency services were called to Eigie House Cottages in Balmedie shortly before 06:00.

The building was found to be "well alight".

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Unfortunately due to this fire there is one fatality. Inquiries are at an early stage."
