A new partnership aimed at adding £30m to the value of golf tourism in the north east of Scotland by 2020 has been launched.

The main drive of the Golf Tourism Alliance is to boost the number of golfing visitors.

Aberdeen City and Shire Tourism Partnership (ATP), golf clubs, accommodation providers and golf tour operators are among those involved.

ATP's Elaine Booth said the area was a "serious golfing destination".

Golf tourism development executive Hector Emslie said: "The north east offers a magnificent range of value for money courses as well as the best links golf in the world.

"Our aim is to make Aberdeen City and Shire the first choice golf destination of the future."
