Woman dies in two-car crash on A98 in Aberdeenshire

A woman has died and two other people have been seriously injured in a two-car crash in Aberdeenshire.

The collision took place on the A98, about five miles east of Portsoy, on Friday at about 20:10.

The female driver of a Seat Leon was taken by helicopter to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment but she died later from her injuries.

A man and a woman in a Volkswagen Golf were also flown to hospital with serious injuries.

Police have appealed for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact them.
