A former school trust in Aberdeen is being sued by a pensions fund to recover money for former staff.

The North East Scotland Pension Fund is taking legal action against the board of Oakbank in relation to about £2.5m.

The residential school, in Midstocket, closed in 2008 because of debts and falling referrals.

An Aberdeen City Council spokesperson said: "The North East Scotland Pension Fund is following due process to recover money owed to it."

The spokesperson added: "As legal proceedings are live no further comment will be made."
