Denburn flood defences in Aberdeen announced
Plans for a new flood protection scheme for properties close to the Denburn river in Aberdeen have been announced.
Aberdeen City Council said the proposed defences should provide protection in the Queen's Cross/Fountainhall and Mackie Place/Jack's Brae areas.
It follows incidents when the Denburn overflowed, causing damage to homes.
Sandbags have been as an interim measure, but work has been ongoing to find a permanent solution.
A water detention pond is planned for a flood plain area near Stronsay Drive and King's Gate.
Council officers will arrange a public meeting early next year.
An initial report on the proposals will be heard by the enterprise, strategic planning and infrastructure committee in January.
