Sex attack on woman in Aberdeen city centre

A 22-year-old woman has been sexually assaulted in Aberdeen city centre in the early hours of Sunday.

Police Scotland said the incident happened in the Castlegate at about 03:30.

The area was cordoned off to allow investigations to be carried out.

A police spokeswoman, appealing for witnesses, said: "The victim was left distressed but uninjured as a result of the assault, she did not require medical attention."

Det Insp Kevin Walker said the suspect was of Asian appearance and aged in his late 20s to early 30s, wearing a two-tone hooded jacket and blue trousers.
