Appeal after body of woman found at Maidencraig Nature Reserve in Aberdeen
Police have appealed for witnesses after the discovery of the body of a woman at an Aberdeen nature reserve.
The body was found at Maidencraig Nature Reserve in the Hazlehead area of the city at about 11:00.
The death was being treated as "unexplained".
Officers were keen to hear from anyone who may have seen a woman wearing a distinctive bright orange hooded top, walking a black Collie dog, in the Den of Maidencraig area.
Det Insp Stewart Mackie said: "We have various resources deployed to establish the circumstances of what has happened."
Local councillor Martin Greig, who represents the Hazlehead and Queens Cross area, said: "This is an extremely shocking incident.
"The local community will be greatly alarmed by this terrible news. Hopefully the police will be able to explain what has happened without delay. My sympathies go to the family and friends of the deceased."
