Current and retired sheriffs are to take part in an event to formally mark the closure of the court in Stonehaven.

Its business is transferring to Aberdeen as part of a modernisation scheme by the Scottish Court Service (SCS).

The SCS says work is under way on a new commercial and civil court in the city.

This will free up the sheriff and high court buildings for criminal cases.
