Foula and Outer Skerries airports closed over safety concerns

All flights to and from two of Shetland's most remote islands have been cancelled due to safety concerns.

Airports at Foula and Outer Skerries have been closed with immediate effect.

The closures are as a result of issues being raised over levels of insurance and training to satisfy safety regulations.

The local council say that they will keep the airports closed until they are convinced sufficient measures are in place.
