Man, 20, dies in police custody in Aberdeen

An investigation has been launched after a man died in police custody in Aberdeen.

The 20-year-old man died at the Kittybrewster custody centre on Sunday.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "As is routine in such matters, the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service has instructed the Police Investigations and Review Commissioner to carry out an independent investigation into the circumstances."

No further comment was being made.
