Peter Wildman named as man killed in RAF Lossiemouth bike crash

A serviceman who died after a motorbike crash at the RAF Lossiemouth base has been named.

Sgt Peter Wildman, 49, from Elgin, was involved in the one-vehicle accident on Tuesday evening at the Moray site.

The RAF said the serviceman, who was off-duty at the time, was "extremely popular" and would be missed.

Police Scotland said an investigation would be carried out in liaison with the RAF and a report would be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

An RAF spokesman said: "We are acutely aware that he leaves behind close family and friends, and the thoughts and prayers of our personnel go out to them at this most difficult time."
