Stonehaven flooding funds agreed in principle

Funding for a scheme aimed at protecting Stonehaven from flooding has been approved in principle.

Councillors on Aberdeenshire's policy and resources committee have been told that talks were ongoing with local government organisation Cosla which is identifying areas of priority for funding.

Construction could begin next year.

Dozens of homes were evacuated, and properties damaged, after the River Carron burst its banks in 2012.
