A date has been announced for a by-election following the death of an Aberdeenshire councillor.

The election for the Troup ward will take place on Thursday 27 November.

The seat is vacant following the death of Conservative councillor John Duncan who had represented the ward since 2002.

Mr Duncan, a retired farmer who lived in Gamrie, was described as a "true gentleman" who would be sadly missed.
