Man dies following two-car crash in Aberdeenshire

A 52-year-old man has died following a two-car crash in Aberdeenshire.

The accident happened on the B9033 Fraserburgh to St Combs road, at the junction with the B9107 at Inverallochy, at about 19:10 on Sunday.

The man died at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. Three other people were treated for minor injuries.

Police have appealed for witnesses to the crash which involved a green Vauxhall Astra and a gold Renault Scenic.

Sgt Rob Warnock, of Police Scotland, said: "This is a tragic incident that has sadly resulted in a 52-year-old man losing his life.

"Investigations into the cause of the collision are at an early stage and I would urge anyone who witnessed the collision and hasn't spoken to police to do so. Additionally, anyone who may have seen the vehicles prior to the incident is asked to contact us."
