Boy, 10, injured after youths clash in Aberdeen street

A 10-year-old boy was taken to hospital after a large group of youths were involved in a disturbance in Aberdeen.

About 15 youngsters aged between 10 and 14 clashed near Tesco at Lang Stracht at 20:15 on Thursday.

The boy was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary by paramedics to be treated for facial injuries.

Police have appealed for witnesses to the disturbance and a number of smaller incidents which followed in the local area.

Insp Kevin Wallace said: "We are currently responding to a number of reports from members of the public regarding these incidents and would appeal for any witnesses to contact us.

"Inquiries are at an early stage and as yet no-one has been arrested or charged.

"Incidents of this nature are rare and we would urge the public to pass on any information."
