A Moray Council by-election has been won by the SNP candidate.

Kirsty Reid triumphed in the Elgin North count over five other independent Labour, Conservative, UKIP and Green candidates.

Moray Council said the turnout was 20.9% - the lowest for a by-election in the area since 1995.

The by-election was triggered by the resignation of Labour councillor Barry Jarvis.
