Woman, 77, killed in Shetland crash at Brae

A 77-year-old woman has died after a two-vehicle crash in Shetland.

The crash happened outside the Brae Hotel on Monday just before 11:50.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service sent appliances from Brae and Lerwick, and crews used hydraulic cutting gear to release two "elderly" casualties, one male and one female.

Both were taken to hospital for treatment, but the female passenger later died. Police Scotland closed the road for a collision investigation.
