Aberdeen woman Shannon Main sentenced for indecent images

An Aberdeen woman who posted indecent photos of a young girl online has been given a two-year custodial sentence.

Shannon Main, 20, admitted taking and distributing the images, and also touching the girl.

Aberdeen Sheriff Court heard that Main carried out the crimes out of a desire to please others.

Sheriff William Summers said: "You knew what you were doing was wrong and still you did it anyway."

Main was sent to a young offenders institution for two years, and was also placed on the sex offenders register for 10 years.

She was caught after the girl told her family about what had happened to her.

In October last year, Main was ordered to carry out 200 hours of community service after she admitted sparking a police investigation when she lied about being raped.
