Muirfield School in Aberdeen branded unsatisfactory by Education Scotland

An Aberdeen primary school has been criticised by inspectors.

Education Scotland said the performance at Muirfield School and Nursery was weak and unsatisfactory.

Inspectors found activities lacked relevance and variety in too many lessons and additional support was needed to make the necessary changes.

Aberdeen City Council said Muirfield School and Nursery was "committed to improvements" following the inspection.

The council noted the report said the head teacher and staff cared about the children and the school community.

Education Scotland said it would carry out another inspection within the year.
